Welcome to Golden Fleece Marketing! Founded in December 2019, Golden Fleece Marketing was born out of a combination of determination and passion. After interning at the Equiery and Practical Horseman, I spent 18 months working as part of a team to craft effective marketing, social media, and public relations strategies for some of the leading IT firms in the Frederick area. Now, I craft authentic stories through photography and copywriting.

A little about my horsemanship background– I first fell in love with horses when I was eight years old. My older sister’s trainer would give me pony rides on the school horses after she was done teaching, for which I would wait very impatiently. Bless the trainers who have the patience to cultivate a love for horses in kids like me. Those few moments in the saddle sparked a love of all things equine that has carried me through the AA hunter/jumper ring, eventing barns, and dressage arenas. I am a die-hard bleeding heart and will always have a soft spot for rescues. I’ve assisted with training foals and feral horses, as well as started neglected horses under saddle.

In 2019, I didn’t just start a business from scratch– I also brought home a three-year-old Off the Track Thoroughbred. I owe a lot to that petite plain bay mare. “LB” has brought my love of horses to new heights. Through her, I’ve made connections with friends and clients whom I would have never met otherwise. Every day, she teaches me something new that informs my writing and my photography. In her time with me, LB has acted as a model, stood tacitly while I tested out brand products on her, and taught me not just about horses, but about myself. I’m a firm believer that it’s difficult to write about horses and connect with equestrians unless you’ve swung a leg over that saddle and felt the magic of that silent communication.
About the Name– Why Golden Fleece Marketing? I grew up with a voracious appetite for books, like most other writers. My favorite was a book of Greek myths, including the myth of Jason and the Argonauts. Jason has to retrieve the hide of a great golden winged ram, Chrysomallos, and return with it to Ithaca to win the hand of the sorceress, Medea. This is the Golden Fleece. In the original story of Chrysomallos, the ram rescues two children from a wicked stepmother (a fairytale classic) before being sacrificed to Zeus.
While there is some controversy around the many meanings of the Golden Fleece, it is said to symbolize justice and true leadership, healing, prosperity, and possibly even the triumphant return of spring over winter. Without getting too far into the weeds, I chose the name ‘Golden Fleece Marketing’ because I have one goal: to help you and your business prosper via authentic storytelling. I’m here to help you grow your online presence in a way that feels genuine and true to who you are.

The equestrian world is a unique multi-layered beast that is difficult to navigate. Those who do not speak the “native language” can quickly become lost in its depths. My deep understanding of equestrians of all disciplines molds every piece I write and every photo I take.
Equestrians are dedicated, hard-working, and compassionate– and the best of them know how to spot a fake from a mile away. They value authentic content. Let’s tell your story.
